OUR PASTOR

ELDER XAVIER MADDOX

A visionary and a leader, Elder Xavier W. Maddox serves as Pastor/Teacher of Twenty-Fourth Street Baptist in Columbus, Georgia. Much like the vision for building that God gave to Nehemiah, Pastor Maddox has sought God’s will for his church, and has led his congregation through 12 years of growth and blessings. Xavier and his two brothers and two sister grew up in a Christian home in Columbus, Georgia to the parents of Elder Arch and Gloria Maddox. He is married to Shirley Maddox has two daughters—Theron and Aisha, and two grandsons- Javon and Jacob.

A graduate of New Life Bible College and Seminary International School of Theology he is armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education. Pastor Maddox is a life-long learner and is currently pursuing his Master's in Biblical Studies. He has received numerous training through out his 25 years in the ministry.He is committed to developing men, women and youth to disciple the world for Christ. He currently holds the position of vice-president of the S.A.F.E. Conference.

Pastor Maddox desires for souls of God's people to be saved. He currently serves on the board for various ministries and organizations such as: Hospice Ministry,Ministerial Alliance,board of directors for the North American School of the Theology.

Not only is he a prognosticator of the Gospel but he has a melodious voice for the old traditional meter hymns in which one of his favorites is "Guide me over thy great Jehovah".
